As we reported in this post, Nintendo announced the release of the Wii Zapper for November 19th. Well, that same zapper has parents everywhere pulling the alarm. Thousands of complaints are being recieved from thousands of sites from parents, telling them how bad the Wii Zapper is for their children, and from children around the world.
Here are some sample comments for your enjoyment. Feel free to comment how you feel about this issue below.
“Great, this is what we need. Children with guns learning how to aim and shoot. Then we can sit back and wonder what is happening to our country with kids killing kids……what’s next? Could we make it squirt blood, too?”
“The gun like remote will get someone killed…. unless it’s pink with a flag in the muzzel [sic]. Toys guns of yesteryear were red, blue and whatever… no ligitimate reason to risk anyones life. The idiot that made the remote should have his/her brain checked….if they have one.”
“I think it’s irresponsible for Wii to come out with a controller that looks like a gun so kids can play games simulating shooting. What kind of message are we sending as parents when we buy these things for our kids?”
I honestly don’t get the one above, but it was definitely one to post here to get you thinking.

If you don’t approve, don’t buy it for your kid. Nintendo is not responsble for teaching your kid that real guns and gun violence are bad. Pretend guns , and pretend games are great fun! Parents who use game consoles for a babysitter are the real problem. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on this Wii accessory for my favorite FPS game. I won’t let my kids use it (yet). They are too young. I’m 40, and I know the difference between reality and imagination.

Wow! Did I say Wow already. Wow. I guess all the other games didn’t make anyone angry with thier gun accessories. I remember back when Duck hunt came out. Does anyone else. It had an accessory that looked like a gun. Heck, I remember as a boy having a bb-gun, and cap guns. We use to shoot them at each other. It’s not the play that makes these things dangerous it’s the lack of supervision that does. Columbine didn’t happen because of this game. I happened because the parents of those boys didn’t pay attention to what thier kids were getting involved in. The best thing for a parent to do if they want thier kids to be raised knowing what is right or wrong is to get involved. Stop being self involved and be part of your kids life and stop blaming everyone else. People who complain all the time about this stuff are usually the ones who never get involved in bringing about change. Action speaks louder than words. So either get involved or stop complaining. I know, I know. I’m just one person what can I do right? Go tell it to Ghandi or MLK.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This crap must be fake. Toy guns are what kids want. They’ve always wanted them. They should get them because they are fun and good practice for when they are a little older and you get to teach them to handle real guns.
